Inspired by half-frame cameras, the X half is a fun addition to Fujifilm’s range, and features a rear LCD monitor, offering vertical shooting and movie recording at a 3:4 aspect ratio. It has an optical viewfinder which evokes the feel of film cameras, recreating and improving upon distinctive rendering capabilities. It also offers a unique new "2-in-1" mode, which allows users to combine two still images or movies into one composition in-camera, providing richer storytelling capabilities than single images.
The camera features Fujifilm's iconic Film Simulation and Grain Effect; reproducing the unique grain texture of film photos. It also offers new filters such as light leak and halation, to provide users with a wide range of creative expressions.
The lightweight design and retro aesthetics evoke the appeal of classic cameras in a compact 240g body. The compact size and easy-to-use touch controls on the rear LCD of the X half mean the user is ready to shoot anywhere, anytime.
A new dedicated “X half app” will also enhance the joy of viewing, sharing, and printing, with an easy and accessible transfer of images for the user. Pairing the camera with Bluetooth mobile devices allows users to transfer still images and movies to smartphones with ease, enjoy various viewing formats, and send images to instax™ Link series smartphone printers.
Finally, the camera offers the new "Film Camera Mode", which simulates the thrilling experience of film photography, but without the complication and cost of developing. Users can rediscover the magic and excitement of film photography as they view subjects through the optical viewfinder, pull the frame advance lever on the camera’s top plate after each shot, and digitally develop images through the dedicated "X half app”.
