Punchestown Festival Photo Competition

Bermingham Cameras and Punchestown Racecourse are running a Photo Competition for the Punchestown Festival this year which will be held each day during the Festival this year: 30th April - 4th May.

 

The Punchestown Festival is one of the most prestigious events on the horse racing calendar and whilst action on the track is the star of the show, it is the unique atmosphere in the enclosures that elevates the occasion to one of Ireland’s favourite days out.  

Horses are not the main focus of this competition. 

It is the magic combination, the essence, the soul of the event we need to capture. The characters who bring the character. A study of the people at Punchestown. From the biggest networking event in the land to the biggest party in the land. The joy of shouting home your winner to the pain of watching victory slip away in the shadow of the post. Dancing in the bars to serious study of form by the parade ring. 

The competition is called:
“The Punchestown Festival- It’s More than Horses”

The overall winner of the Competition will win a Canon EOS R10 kit

The competition has €20 entry fee- this will be donated to Irish Injured Jockeys. This includes admission to the racecourse on the day you are participating in the competition.

Venue:   Punchestown Racecourse

 

Entrants will have access to the general and reserved enclosures only. This takes in the public areas, parade ring, pre-parade, horse walk, grandstand terraces, panoramic terrace, grandstand bars and cafes, shopping village, Sky Bar, Bollinger Bar and Gardens, viewing lawns etc. 

 

Entrants do not have access to any restricted areas including but not limited to hospitality venues, parade ring, saddling enclosure, private suites, weigh room and changing areas, back of house event areas.

Terms & Conditions 

  • Photograph entries to have been taken between 30th April and 4th May at the Punchestown Festival 2024.
  • Entries will only be accepted from the registered participants for each day
  • Expression of interest to enter this competition does not guarantee entry- only those contacted by Bermingham Cameras to advise their registration is accepted will be considered “entrants”
  • Up to 3  photograph  entries  per  person  will  be  accepted
  • Deadline for submitting entries is Midnight, Sunday 12th May 2024.
  • The competition is only open to registered entrants. Registration can be done by clicking the following link.
  • There will be a maximum number of entrants per day.
  • Entrants can only choose ONE day to attend the Punchestown Festival to capture images for entry
  • There will be certain areas that entrants will NOT have access to- racetrack and parade ring are included in this.
  • By submitting an entry, you grant each of Punchestown racecourse and Bermingham Cameras the right to reproduce, make available and publish your photograph free of charge or restriction in both digital and printed formats, on television, online, in news and publicity articles and  in  promotional  materials,  as  well  as  in a  public  exhibition at Punchestown racecourse 
  • Copyright in the photograph remains with the original copyright holder subject to the foregoing licence granted to Punchestown racecourse and Bermingham Cameras. 
  • Upload your entry as a .JPEG/.JPG file attachment as per instructions received after registration is confirmed
  • No AI entries accepted
  • There will be just one overall winner decided by a panel of three judges from a shortlist of entries that will be selected. The judges’ decisions are final, and no correspondence  will  be  entered  into.  
  • Prizes are non-transferable and will only be awarded to the winner 
  • Bermingham Cameras  reserves  the  right  to  change  prize  details  without  notice  and  all  prizes  are  subject  to availability. 
  • Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission to use the relevant winner’s name, hometown and likeness  for  purposes  of  advertising,  promotion  or  publicity  in  any  media  without  additional compensation  and  prize  winners  agree  to  take  part  in  such  related  promotional  activities  Punchestown Racecourse and Bermingham Cameras may require.  
  • All  competition  entries  must  be  received  by  Bermingham Cameras  in  the  required  format  before  the  advertised closing date. Neither Bermingham Cameras nor its affiliated entities are responsible for printing or typographical errors in any materials relating to Bermingham Cameras promotions; fraudulent, lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or altered entries;  or  entries  which  are  processed  late  or  incorrectly  or  are  lost  due  to  computer  or  other technical malfunction.  
  • Bermingham Cameras  reserves  the  right  to  cancel,  terminate,  modify  or  suspend  this  competition  and/or  vary competition rules at any time without prior notice and Bermingham Cameras decision as regards exercise of such rights shall be final. 
  • Participation  in  this  competition  denotes  acceptance  of  these  terms  and  conditions  and  any additional competition specific terms and conditions which may be advertised or notified by Bermingham Cameras.
  • In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct or the results of the competition or the provision of prize(s) (or any elements of the prize(s)), the decision of Bermingham Cameras and Punchestown Racecourse will be final.
